Pot-tay Time!

This is what we've been up to lately around here....Potty training!
Matthew is slowly getting it.  See all the stickers on his chart on the pee-pee side?!

Since he goes to daycare/preschool during the day, I still send him in diapers/pull-ups.  His teacher says he's been very good at going in the toilet during potty time.  When he gets home, I put him in big boy undies and put him on the toilet every 15-20 mins.

I really want him to be potty trained before he turns 3 next month!  But how do you know when they are really ready to make the switch to big boy undies full-time??!!

And seriously, how cute are the little boy undies?!

He'll pick it up my friend.... just look at all of those stickers! Drew is still in a nighttime diaper and I have no clue how he's ever going to go 11-12 hours without peeing. I've heard that for overnights, boys can take until like 3.5 or 4 to get that part. And no, there's absolutely nothing cuter (except maybe a bare tush!). I absolutely LOVE seeing my little man run around in undies!

He is trained when HE initiates going to the bathroom. When he consciously stops what he is doing and goes to the bathroom without you asking. That is a HUGE milestone. It may take a while. My son was trained in a day. We made a big deal about him going when he turned 3, bought him transformers underwear, and that was that. At approaching 6, he is still in a pull up at night. I totally don't sweat it, and we don;t make a big deal about it. He hates it, but his body is just too immature to wake him at night or have him hold it. My pediatrician said that boys can take up to age 8-10 to be dry overnight. I hope that he doesn't take that long, but for now, I could care less. I know may boys at age three who are dry all night also.

Boys undies, especially the boxer briefs are SO cute :(

Yay!! Good luck!! We did the 3 day potty training method and haven't looked back since. LD was about 2 months before his 3rd birthday. We didn't do pull ups at night. We just limited liquids a few hours before bed and had him go potty right before bed. He had about 3 accidents and has been dry overnight ever since. Now I hear him wake up in the middle of the night walk to the potty and go. But a lot of his little girlfriends aren't potty trained yet, or aren't night trained. I think we just got super lucky!!

Andrew took forever! I thought he was going to start school in diapers, lol. I think I pushed him too hard. Back off if he starts getting resistant and let him go at his own pace. I hated potty training. Good luck!!

They all go at their own pace.

Avie wasn't interested in the potty until she was almost 3, then it took about a week, and a big leap of faith on my part to stop the diapers, a few weeks later, there were no nap time diapers. A few months after she turned 3 we got rid of the night time diapers. For us, she basically started to refuse wearing a diaper at certain points.
