This past weekend we went back for round 2 of cherry picking! How could we not? There were still plenty to be picked! It was much hotter and thankfully Steve brought a folding chair for me to 'rest' so I wouldn't be standing for too long.
After cherry picking, we headed to Lake Cacapon (in W.VA). Matthew has been begging to go to the beach and this was as close as we were going to get to the 'beach'. It's only about 45 minutes from us, versus the 4 hours to the closes beach!
Matthew was loving every minute of it! He enjoyed playing in the sand and building sand castles. Initially, he had no interest in getting in the water, but eventually made his way in and had a blast!
My nieces came along and we all had a great time.
Definitely will be returning to the Lake!
I'm glad we were able to have this little outing with Matthew before baby arrives. I want to spend as much time with him as possible before he becomes big brother and will no longer be the only one needing all our attention!

It's still the "beach" if there is sand and water! We folks from MI have plenty here. Wherever you are in the state, you are within 80 miles of a lake with a beach. The first time I saw the ocean was on my honeymoon at age 24!
That beach looks PACKED! I do love me some cherries too. :)
Next summer take a drive up here and go to the beach with us. We are only an hour from the fabulous NJ beaches! Hang in there...you're SO close!!!!
