24wks

(23w5d)

I usually love black friday, but I couldn't do the crack of dawn shopping this year because I knew there was no way I could get up that early and stand in line for so long.  My body just physically couldn't do it.  There weren't any deals that we just HAD to have so we opted to sleep in a bit.  I figured we could just hit up the stores when we headed to our dr appt later in the morning.  We did manage to go to babies.r.us and get a glider and the bedding for the nursery.

Then we headed to the high risk dr for our 24 wk baby scan.  I was hoping to go to Tar.get after my appt, but the dr had other plans.  Baby is measuring just fine and weighs 1 pound 6 ounces.  My cervix on the other hand is still changing.  At my last appt a week ago, he said it was fine, but now it's changing again.  When they apply pressure to my belly, the cervix contracts a little.  Nothing major to be concerned about,  yet, but he told me to go straight home and rest.  He said I couldn't finish up my black friday shopping!  He also suggested that I continue to work from home and really limit all my physical activity.  And he said absolutely no "marital" activities until 36 weeks!  Oh my!

So, we picked up Abbey and headed home.  I took it easy and 'helped' put up one of the Christmas trees.  Abbey and Steve will do the second one.  There's so  much to do around the house to get it ready for the holidays, but it will be a slow process since I can't do too much.  I'm so use to being on the go all the time, that I have to force myself to slow down.  Of course, I will do whatever it takes to ensure baby is safe and sound and keeps cooking away in the oven.

I love the picture...so nice of you and a great fall background:)

As for the cervix def take it easy because Im sure your Dr. told you it can change in a matter of minutes...and when you are sitting up...standing...stairs...or lifting it put pressure on it causing it to change even more...

Im like u so used to being able to do it all but I have def had to make many changes and it has paid off:) This year instead of putting up the tree I just have a small group of charlie brown tree's...So I can still have all the christmas lights but without all the work...I just figure less is more this year with everything...but next year we can go all out once baby hakes is here...

So take care and rest...rest...rest:)

I LOVE that picture of you!!! You glow more and more as your pregnancy progresses!

Sorry you are being forced to slow down, that must be so hard, especially for someone like you who likes to go go go!!!! I guess you will have to find things to do that dont require much movement! Hopefully you find a way to preoccupy yourself. You're almost there, hang in there!

Awww, Hannah--you look great!!
I did not like being asked/told to slow down, but I did what I needed to in order to keep Oman safe and sound--I know you will do what you need to do, too! Let people wait on you! :)

I know I've said it before, but I just can't help myself, you are SO ADORABLE!

I wish that things were going easier with your pregnancy. I know you will gladly do bed rest to keep your little guy safe, but it sounds so brutal to lay around all day, especially when you really want to be up and about getting things done. I guess you'll be doing a lot of online shopping this year huh?

Keep your feet up sweetie. Sending you loads of love!

You look fantastic!!! And yes do take it easy if the cervix is not quite behaving, I am sure it'll all be fine and you are in the "safety" zone already although a few more weeks will make a massive difference if the little one is a bit impatient to meet his mommy!
