A Nice Surprise

Whenever I'm out shopping or browsing at baby clothes, I always think there are way  more cute baby girl clothes than there are boys clothes.  Girls are fun to dress up!  But since I won't be buying bows and tutu's anytime soon, I've been on the look out for cute boy stuff.  I was in Gymboree a few weeks ago looking for a fall dress for Abbey and I came across some baby boy things that were on clearance!  Of course I just had to get them.

The boots are my absolute favorite!
I love the hat too, since I can't buy bows, I'm on the look out for cute hats.

Steve made the monkey for baby when we were in Williamsburg.

Did I mention that I have the best husband in the world?  A few weeks ago I had to go out and run errands, but first I had to put Abbey and Steve down for a nap (you know how grouchy kids and husbands can get when they're tired).

When I came home about 4 hours later, Abbey was very excited to show the 'surprise' that she and Steve had for me.  Instead of napping, they were busy working on my surprise.  I closed my eyes as they led me upstairs to the baby's future room.

To my suprise, instead of napping, they spent the whole afternoon cleaning out all the junk stuff we had dumped stored in the spare room.  I was so happy and overwhelmed with love.  I know it was a lot of work for them (mostly Steve).  He basically moved everything out of the room into the basement.

And this was all that was left in the room.
The doggie blanket was from my awesome neighbor who is always so thoughtful. There's also a little green book of Abbey's that she wanted to give the baby.

We literally have a clean state now to start the nursery!  I was really starting to stress about having to clean up that room (aka my 'closet' as Abbey called it).

I didn't get a picture of the room before, but I was able to get a picture of all the junk stuff that occupied the room.  It's quite embarrassing!!!
The furniture that occupied the room, a bookcase and the dresser Steve made for me when we first got married.  I am not looking forward to going through all this stuff, but I know it has to be done...eventually.

I am grateful for a thoughtful husband and niece who loves me enough to work so hard so I wouldn't have to stress too much.  I love them so much and count my blessings every day to have them in my life!

So sweet! Perfect surprise...so fun to get the room ready for baby V. At first I thought the same thing about clothes for boys vs. girls. It's been fun to shop for Ethan...I love Janie and Jack and you can never fail with Baby Gap...I've found that clothes from these stores stands up to a whole lot of beating and yet still lasts and lasts. Gymboree ~ great place for boys clothes :~) I love the fire engine outfit...especially those boots!

Oh such cute clothes! I always thought they needed to put more effort into creating cute boys clothes, so I'm glad you found such a cute outfit. I can't wait to see the cute hats you are able to find!

I laughed at your comment on my tv show pics! Glee is sucking a little this season, even my husband is disenchanted this season. Don't get your hopes up too much for The Office...it's really a terrible season and we've gone whole episodes without laughing! I LOVE BBT too! Except I only posted what we are able to watch together...and DH can't stand BBT :(

Now that you can kick up your feet each evening I hope tv watching is even sweeter for you!
