Re-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat!

^^Cool kid!^^

I was driving in the car last week with Matthew and my niece Abbey.  There was a guy in the car next to me that proceeded to merge over into my lane without even looking and continued to merged even though I was honking my horn!  I had to swerve to avoid him colliding into me.

In my frazzled state, I blurted out 'Jerk!', aiming my anger at the driver.

Then I hear Matthew from the back seat say, 'JER'!

Yep, Matthew's entered the 'repeating words that he hears' phase.

Recently, Steve called me 'honey' at the dinner table and without missing a beat, Matthew repeated 'honey'.  We just cracked up laughing!

On a positive, fun note, when we say prayers together, he 'prays' with us by folding his arms and repeating the last word we say.

For example, we'll say 'Thank you for our food', then Matthew will repeat 'food'.
'Thank you for Jesus', Matthew repeats 'Jesus' (that makes my heart swell).

Fun times around here!

It's adorable the way they repeat things! Even Oliver does the same and if I call Mike by his nickname Oliver immediately says it too! And the thing is that he remembers it days later! Much love, Fran

I had the exact same scenario happen to me where a guy on was on the phone and merged into my lane without looking. I honked at him really long and hard, but he just kept driving like nothing happened. Unlike you, I used the work A******! Yup, will really need to pay attention to what we say with kids around. Glad he is picking up on all the good stuff too =)

Awww, so cute about the repeating the last word of prayer time. Yea the repeating phase is funny. My husband sometimes calls me Mama Bear, and now my son calls me Mama Bear...it's super cute. Just have to watch what we say when around these little sponges!
