Picking out baby names with a Toddler

Found this little selfie picture on my phone.

That little face cracks me up. He's always taking a million pictures on my phone.

Matthew really wants a baby sister.

And there are days when you ask him if he wants a baby sister or brother and he'll say, 'mommy, I don't want nothing'.

We don't know the gender of the baby yet (hopefully will find out this week) but we have agreed on one girl name and can't decide on a boy name.

If it's a girl, we like the name Katherine (Kate for short).  Matthew is already excited for his baby Kate!

Boys name are harder to agree on.  I like Luke and so does Matthew.  Steve's not a fan. I also like Mark, but he doesn't like that name either!  So here's a conversation we had the other night with Matthew as we were discussing names:

STEVE:  Matthew, what about the name Thomas?

MATTHEW: No, that's a train!

STEVE:  What about the name Peter?

MATTHEW: No, daddy, that's a rabbit!

We laughed so hard when he said that! 

I guess we can't pick out any names that are T.V. characters he knows. 

He cracks us up!

I am excited to find out this week!

12 wk Scan

I had my 12 week NT scan on Tuesday.  I was SO happy to see baby moving around!  The dr said everything looks good and baby is growing on track. 

I expressed my concern/fear of having another subchorionic hemorrhage and he said that I am almost out of the first trimester so I should not worry.  (I guess I should stay off the internet because I keep reading horror stories about them!). 

I will go back to see the Perinatologist again in three weeks and then every other week from then on.  That's a lot of appts, but every chance I get to see baby puts my mind at ease. 

I am so grateful for each passing day that baby is growing!



6 Weeks

We got to see the TINY little heart beat this morning.

117 bpm.

Amazing.  Beautiful.  Glorious.

We will return in two weeks for the 8 week ultrasound and then will be released to my OB and the Perinatologist. 

Praying baby will keep growing, and growing, and growing.

Positive Christmas Wishes

We had a fabulous Christmas together as a family.

 

 

Matthew enjoyed opening his gifts.  Santa brought him his trumpet and yellow car he asked for.  He got a guitar and some Bubble Puppies toys.  And some little fun things in his stocking.  I loved seeing his little face light up with each present he opened. 

 

How cute are these jammies?! 

He looked SO cute in them and everyone was smiling and complimenting him at COSTCO. He may have worn them the whole weekend.  :)

We made this shirt for Matthew to announce to his grandparents that he is going to be a

BIG BROTHER!

 

Our beta on the 24th was 357.

It was repeated on the 26th and was 801.

I go back tomorrow for one more beta test and sonogram will be done on Jan 6 or 7th (6 1/2 weeks).

 

With this positive news, we are SO incredibly happy and SO blessed.  We are not out of the woods by any means, so please keep us in your prayers.

Transfer Complete!

We had our transfer this morning!  We were down to 6 embryos and the best two were transferred. The rest of the embryos will be watched closely and if they keep growing, will be frozen. Our history has shown us that none of our embryos have made it to the frozen stage. 

The important ones are the ones that were transferred!  Two little embryos. Hoping and praying they will snuggle in. 

We go back in two weeks for the pregnancy test!!  

Transfer Date, Santa and Snow!

We have 13 embryos that are still growing. 

Transfer date is scheduled for Wednesday (day 5).  Still trying to convince my dr to transfer 3 embryos but I don't think I will win that battle.  :)

We had a busy weekend with visiting Santa's and Christmas parties!  The best part is Matthew didn't cry.  Unlike last year's Santa's visit.  I think the real test is when we go see Santa at the mall!

We got snow on Sunday and church was cancelled so we lounged around the house (and I made a few bowties and watched The Walking Dead!).  Matthew got up late from his nap and wanted to help daddy shovel the drive way.  

 

He had a snow day at home today and we went out and built a snowman and did a little bit of sledding in the back yard.   And hot chocolate afterwards!

We are expecting more snow tomorrow.  I hope it all clears up before we have to make the long drive for the transfer on Wednesday!

 



Thankful for Little Hands to Hold

 

I am so thankful for my little boy who has such a big heart.

 

He held my hand while Steve administered my shots and said 'It's okay mommy, I hold your hand'.  Then he turns to his daddy and says 'be gentle daddy, gentle'. 

 

Seriously, how can such a small boy show so much love to his momma?!!

 

The other day I called him 'baby doll' and he said, 'I not baby doll, I Pumpkin!'

Yes, yes you are mommy's punkin'!

 

These are moments that I don't want to forget so I have to record them on my blog so I don't forget any of it.

 

 

 

Back on the Wagon

That box is the start of our IVF cycle.  It contains all our drugs for this cycle. 

We are back at it!  Today was my first appointment of this cycle. I finished taking my last BCP (birthcontrol pill), which you are required to take for 2 1/2 weeks before a cycle starts (yeah, sounds contradicting when you are trying to have a baby!). 

Those BCP were quite the mood buster for me (mostly sad kind of mood).  I'm so glad to be done with them!  

I start my shots on Monday and go back on Wednesday for BW/US (Bloodwork/ultrasound).  Then more shots, etc. 

We should know by Christmas if the cycle works.  That would just be the best Christmas present ever!  Let's all pray it works!

I am nervous to be back on the crazy roller coaster, but I have faith that whatever happens will all be part of Heavenly Father's plan for our family.
