Mocking Jay Book Club

I hosted book club on Friday at my house.  We discussed the third book in the Hunger Games Trilogy, Mocking Jay.  It's an easy read and aimed toward young adults, but we 30 somethings love reading it.  To read more about the series, click on this review on Good Reads.

Thanks to my friend Lisa for leading the discussion. We had a fabulous time! Steve even joined in on our discussion because he had read them too.  Now I personally wasn't very thrilled with the third book.  I felt like it was rushed and didn't really explain enough.  But I think the overall series was good.

Here are the lovely ladies from book club (some were missing).  We even had little Piper join us.  She is the cutest thing ever!

Thanks ladies for coming!
Can't wait for the next book/series to read. Any recommendations?

That looks like so much fun! And a chocolate fountain too.

I wished I enjoyed reading more. Well I do enjoy reading, but it's hard to read and knit at the same time. ;-)

Glad you had fun!

I read the series and it left me bummed out!!! I wanted Katniss to become queen or something :-) Would have been to discuss at a book club!

I am still reading this book; it's been frustrating because it's taking me forever to finish it! I just can't seem to get into it like I did with the first two books. Urgh.

On a happy note, your book club looked way fun! I want to get a chocolate fountain one day:)

I found a Christian author I really like. Karen Kingsbury. I've read a couple series of hers that follow a family through their trials and tribulations...very relatable, easy read and loved reading them. Redemption, Sunrise and Forever are the names of the series.
