(High School friends)
You know when you're out (in a restaurant) and there's that baby that just wont' stop SCREAMING?!!
Yeah, that was MY baby on Friday night.
I met some friends for dinner and Matthew was good for about 10 minutes. Then he started to SCREAM and was just NOT happy. I changed his diaper and tried to feed him, but he was not having it! He was horrible and I WAS so frustrated! Everyone was staring at us and I felt so bad.
I finally took him outside and he was fine. My dear friend Courtney came out and held him for me so I could eat and visit with the rest of the ladies for a little bit. He was still being fussy for her too!
I'm glad I got to visit with my friends for a bit, but I was just a frustrated wreck!
The first picture was from a few weeks ago when I met up with some high school friends so they could all meet Matthew. He was good through dinner but toward the end he was not a happy camper.
Lesson learned - Do not take Matthew out by myself. He does not like dining out! I'm sure it won't get any easier until he's much older.

Oh Hannah...poor Mathew. Don't worry...everyone of us are entitled to have a little cry or SCREAM every now and then. He's a baby, that's what they are suppose to do...he will get use to going out to lunch/dinner with his sweet mommy...you'll see. I dragged my Ethan every where...we did the same with Marisa...I guess I was being selfish for not wanting to leave them out on anything. Let's do lunch when you are free :~)
Yeah, dinners are a thing of the past for us unless it's before six. When Bubba is past his bedtime, he let's the world know. Loudly!
I am so sorry. Those dinners are SO FRUSTRATING! I'm pretty sure every mother in that restaurant was looking and thinking "Oh I remember those days. They were so hard."
I know that prior to having kids I would be in a store or restaurant and upon hearing a screaming baby would think "Good grief can't you get that baby to be quiet? Or leave?" Now that I have kids I am far more sympathetic.
Often times I find myself wanting to help those moms. Especially when they are in the checkout line somewhere and they have a screaming baby and you can tell that they are at their wits end.
Believe me more people stare in sympathy rather than irritation :)
Aw I feel for you :-( We've had tough nights out like that before, especially with Jaden. Bristol seems to enjoy going out to a noisy restaurant, but maybe that's because she's super laid back and also used to chaos from life with her two big sisters.
Hey, I've been there, too! I don't really enjoy eating out at restaurants with my kids, as they are 1 years and 4 years old. It's way too hard to enjoy the food someone else made when I'm working extra hard to get them fed in a completely different environment and food, all while trying to keep their behavior in check. Needless to say, don't give up and try different times of day and with help from Steve. Maybe you'll be able to have a more successful dining out experience as a family, yet!
You've had so many great updates while I was at the beach. Sorry Matthew was fussy but he's still perfect. Us infertiles appreciate even the fussy times because we now how special they are. Happy Belated birthday to Abby what a wonderful 8th birthday.
