Show and Tell - Curtains

We've been in our house for over four years and just painted the foyer and kitchen last year. I've been wanting to get window treatments since forever, but they cost soooo much for custom treatments.  I was quoted $600 - $800 JUST for the kitchen window and sliding glass door!!  (Who in the world spends that kind of money on curtains for two windows??!!)  I finally broke down and just bought some simple ones, just to have something covering the windows in my kitchen and breakfast area.

This is my kitchen window BEFORE

This is the AFTER. Simple. Purrty.

And here is the sliding glass door with two panels (that did NOT cost me an arm and a leg!). I didn't take a before picture, but you all know what a plain sliding glass door looks like. Now I just have to find something to go above it.

Next on my list is the family room and dining room. Hopefully it won't take me another four years to get those done!

Hop on over to Mel's to see what everyone is showing and telling about.

I LOVE the curtains!!!! My MIL paid $800 for shears in her living room. CRAZY!!! I love my curtains and they came from Target.

So glad you found something you love and cheap too!

And we've been in our house for four years and haven't painted yet either! It's still all construction white. I plan to tackle it next month.

I love the curtains, they look beautiful! I've thought about doing those same colors but always seem to my same old blue and white.

They look awesome! I really can't see spending a ton of money on window treatments, especially not when you can get something that looks great and serves the same purpose for much less $$. I prefer to save the extra $$ for more fun things :D

Mmmm... I love the warm color palette. Reminds me of pies and apple cider and cinnamon. But they'll pop even more in the spring and summer - very bright and sunny too. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty! I think my step-mom has those curtains!

I'm interior-design challenged. Plus, my house is super old, so there's not a whole lot you can do with it!

Thanks for sharing!

The curtains are fabulous. You should hang the little arrangement that was above the kitchen window above the sliding door. It was cute.

I am totally in the curtain boat with you thought. I just can't spare the money for niceties right now though. :( *sigh*
