Day 5 Transfer Scheduled

We are scheduled for a day 5 transfer on Thursday (time TBD).

6 of the embryo's continue to grow.

My RE is out all week, but calls into his office daily.  At the beginnng of this cycle I asked him if he would transfer 3 embryo's and he was hesitant, but said he would have to wait and see.  According to the nurse, it looks like he is still recommending only 2 embryo's.

I know, I know....you only need one GOOD quality embryo, but seeing how it's my last cycle, I was hoping for 3!

I am praying so hard for this cycle to be successful.  The thought that this is possibly our last chance makes me anxious.  I am praying for God's comfort through this cycle.  I am praying for strength.  I am praying for peace in my heart.  I am praying to Be Still and Know that He is God and He is in control.

A Filet, A Lobster, and A Trigger

We went to the Capital Grille for dinner to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary.

Yummy!

Steve ordered the Filet Mignon
(with a side of the best yummy/creamy red skin mash potatoes ever!)

I got the Lobster!  Oh my!
Yummy, Yummy Lobster!

Chocolate Hazelnut cake
(A bit disappointed with this one)

Right before we went to dinner, I got the call from the RE's office with my trigger time and retrieval time.

We triggered last night at 8:00 pm and scheduled for retrieval on Saturday morning at 6:00 AM!!
That means I have to get up at 3:00 AM to leave my house by 4:30 AM to get there by 6:00 AM!

Yikes!

This whole week (with the exception of today), I've had to get up at 4:30 AM to make it to my early morning monitoring appts.  So, as you can imagine, I am very tired already!  My poor hubby is just as tired, but he has been a trooper.

I'm so glad the weekend is upon us now.  I'm looking forward to taking naps on Saturday and Sunday.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

10 Yr Anniversary

Ten years ago on this day, I was sealed for time and eternity to my husband in the Washington, D.C. temple.
It was the happiest day of my life.
What a journey!

It's amazing that we can experience LOVE more and more every day.

Look what Steve sent me at work for our anniversary!
And the card reads....
"It has been a great ten years and I can't wait to share the rest of eternity with you."

Love him tons!!

The $100 Whoops

Steve was getting ready to administer my Gani.relix shot last night and he was trying to get the air bubbles out of the syringe when he accidently pulled it all the way down and the medicine all spilled out. Whoops!

Yep!  There goes $100 down the drain.

My follies are growing (some faster than others) and the RE said I could possibly trigger tonight, but he may wait until tomorrow so the follies that are lagging behind can catch up a bit.  That means that we need to order two more doses of the Gani.relix.  Add that to the additional Bra.velle we had to order earlier this week and that brings our total spent on meds this cycle to around $1,300!  (Yikes!)

Accidents happen.

I still love my hubby (how could I not with a face like this??)

I still want to make cute babies with him.

Another Birthday Party Weekend!

What's a weekend without another birthday party? (It seems like that's all we've been doing lately).
Even though it was Steve's birthday weekend, we ended up going to our friend's daughter's 9th birthday.

This cute little girl lost her mom around this time last  year to cancer.  We were happy to be part of her celebration!  I know her mom is so very proud of her!

Father's Day Weekend

First week of shots are done!  I had my second bloodwork(BW)/ultrasound(US) appt this morning. The nurse will call later today to let me know if the dosage will change.  We go in on SUNDAY for another BW/US. And I get to start steroids on Sunday too.  (Part of the protocol this cycle.  Along with blood thinners later in the cycle).

Yippie! I get to spend Father's Day at the fertility office! (insert sarcasm here).

Oh darn, I have to miss church!  (insert semi-sarcasm here).  LOL.  (I believe my actual words when I found out I had a Sunday appt was 'Yes! Yes! Yes!')

I'm actually looking forward to just spending that day with my hubby.  We'll be taking naps since we have to get up at the crack of dawn to make it to the appt.  It will be very low key day since it's the sabbath day and we always try to honor the day of rest!

Unlike us IF women who break down on mother's day, Steve's not sad or anything that it's Father's day.  It's just another day for him.  I'm sad for him....for us....another reminder that we are still childless.  Hopefully this will be the last year.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  Enjoy the time with you fathers or husbands or love ones.  Do something that makes you happy (like eating ice cream!).  We will be busy with another bday party!

How Firm A Foundation!

One of the hyms we sang in church yesterday was 'How Firm a Foundation'

It's one of my favorites.  By time we got to the third verse, I felt a peace and comfort come over me.  I had to try really hard to fight back the tears.  It was a gentle reminder to me, as we start our last IVF cycle, that no matter the outcome, Heavenly Father is there for me.  That I should not fear because He will help me through this journey.  I am grateful. My heart is full.

Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

(I found this video on you.tube.  Beautiful song.)

TGIF!

I just spent $800 on my meds for IVF#3!  Ouch!  And that's with insurance coverage!  Not sure why I'm always surprised by the costs....I should be use to it by now.  I keep thinking of all the things I could buy with that money.  (The COACH store is calling my name, window treatments for my house, money toward building a deck, weekend getaways...I could go on and on).   I'm sure many of my IF bloggers can relate.  I am hoping and praying this will all pay off in the end!

I'm so glad it's Friday.  Ready for the weekend.  We were suppose to get our pictures taken, but Steve has poison ivy on his face!  (I just can't keep the guy clean!)  It's actually getting better so hopefully we can do pictures next week.

And now, the winner of the blog makeover giveaway......Congrats to Suzy from Not a Fertile Myrtle!

(I couldn't figure out how to capture the screenshot and add it to the blog.  I've tried multiple times to copy the screenshot, but no luck).

A Chuck.E.Cheese bday

Another weekend, another bday party.
My nephew Daniel had his 5th bday at chuck.e.cheese on Saturday.
It was crazy busy with kids eating pizza and playing games.  I took tons of pictures (as I'm now the designated family events photographer), but it takes forever to load so I'm only sharing a few.

Daniel with his favorite Aunt!

Daniel and his mommy.

Daniel, Rachel and Abbey

I'm so grateful Sundays are a day of rest!  Because if it wasn't, we'd be going non stop all weekend!

Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree

This has been the new obsession around our house.

Apple i.Pad

Steve LOVES it.

Abbey loves playing games on it and reading books on it.
I guess the "apple" doesn't fall far from the tree. (Get it? haha!)

car ride + i.pad + slurpee = peace and quiet! ahhhh.

Weekend Round UP

I love long holiday weekends.  Saturday morning was spent at the hair salon getting my hair highlighted (which turned out way too blond so she had to tone it down).  Then I had to rush home to make cupcakes for my cousin's son's 1st bday party.  It was a long day, but a fun day.

Birthday boy Ethan!

Here are the cupcakes I made.

Me and my sister (yeah, she got the skinny genes AND the fertile genes)

Steve and Abbey in the front yard with the slip and slide on Memorial Day.

The weather was perfect for splashing in the water.

We also took Abbey to see Shr.ek in 3D.  (I can't believe how expensive a 3D movie is!) It was a cute movie and we had a great time.  When we took Abbey home, she was crying and didn't want us to leave (which has become a recurring thing lately).  She eventually calmed down and we were able to leave, promising that we would come back and pick her up again on Friday.

I am grateful for all the men and women who have fault so bravely so that I can have the freedoms from living in such a great country.  Thank you to all who serve in our military!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
