Once an Infertile....

I find myself back in that place where people use to keep asking when were we going to have children, except now they ask, when are we going to have more children?!

That question brings back a flood of memories.

If only it were that easy.  I'm not one of the lucky ones who can just 'decide' to have a baby and voila, it happens.  Nope, not I.

Truth be told, I've been thinking about baby #2 since before Matthew turned one.  I keep praying that we will be able to grow our family, on our own, without any medical interventions.  (We can't financially afford IVF right now).  I've gotten pregnant on my own before, surely it can happen again, right??!

I know that there are a lot of women out there who would give anything for A baby!  Don't get me wrong, I am eternally grateful for my sweet baby boy.  He makes me smile everyday and I count my blessings.  And just because I have a baby already, doesn't make me forget what it took to have him.

Once an infertile...Always an infertile??!

I'm also reminded that I have NO control over it. I am trying to not let it consume me (easier said than done).  All I can do is have faith and put my trust in God.  It all happens in His time, not my time.
Love this cute little guy to pieces!

Booty In Da Air

I love how he sleeps with his little booty in the air!
So stinkin cute.
There's something so precious about a sleeping baby.
He looks so peaceful and I wonder what he is dreaming about.
I miss him, even when he's sleeping! Crazy huh?!

14 Months - What Matthew's Up To

Walking, fast at times! (without looking like a zombie with his hands straight out to balance himself).

Pushing chairs around.

Likes to take out ALL the tupperware.

We've been practicing NOT to hit.  And when he does we tell him, 'no hitting' in a nice calm voice, but it still brings on the tears.  Yet, when we tell him 'NO' in a stern voice, it doesn't phase him.

Still a very good eater.  There's not much that he won't eat.  Loves to feed himself. And will stuff everything in front of him in his mouth at once, as if someone's stealing his food!

Enjoys the playground and going down the slide.

Looks for mommy many times during the day in her office.

Gets SO excited when daddy comes home!

No One Has the Perfect Life

Do you ever read blogs or see things on FB about other people's lives and think, 'wow, they really have it all together'....perfect home, perfect family, perfect vacations, perfect craftiness, etc.

Then you reflect on your own life and it seems so imperfect.

But the reality is, NO ONE has the perfect life, no matter what they post on their blog or FB.

We all have our own trials, big and small. We overcome one trial and another one pops up.
It's life. No one is exempt from it.

And right now, MY life seems so overwhelming.  I just go through the motions and feel like I can't come up for air sometimes.
It's during these times that I find it very difficult to focus on the positives.
It takes A LOT of effort and prayers to do so.
But you push forward because tomorrow is a new day.
Another opportunity to try again.

(My niece and my little pumpkin are two of the constant positives in my life.
And of course, my dear and wonderful huband too).

Wagon (S)miles

Matthew has been putting a lot of miles (and smiles) on his little wagon.
After dinner walks to the park and seeing all the doggies out and about.
Life is good for the little guy.

Birthday Weekend

I turned 34 on Sunday. Yay for birthdays.
And here I am with the best present EVER....my baby boy.

(picture was taken with my Cannon 50D right before church)

The following pictures are taken with my iPhone (which I'm really lovin BTW)!

pedi with Matthew/Dinner at our favorite restaurant/heart shape filet mignon and crabcake/coconut cream cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory

Steve suprised me with a 'book' of my blog postings from the beginning of my pregnancy up until Matthew's birth.  It was SO thoughtful of him and I know he spent a lot of time editing and formatting the pages.  I love it!

And Matthew gave me lots of kisses for my birthday.

It was a lovely birthday weekend with my loves.

Egg Roll at the White House

I've been trying to get tickets to the Easter Egg roll at the Whitehouse for the past two years (you sign up online and they randomly select winners).  This year I told my sister to sign up and guess what?  She got it!!

Abbey and I were able to join her, but Matthew couldn't because we didn't have enough tickets.  I'm SO glad he didn't come with us.  It was a lot of waiting in lines and I'm sure he would have had a melt down (as I witness so many little one's having while waiting in line).  There were thousands of people there!!

Once we got through security and actually made it through the gates and onto the lawn, it was fun to roam around.  The kids had fun and the weather was perfect!! We didn't dress up in our Easter best because it was a lot of walking from the metro to the Whitehouse.  And I was so glad we weren't the only ones.

We got the last time slot (2:30 - 4:30 pm) so we didn't get to see the President or the First lady.  I think the earlier crowds got to mingle with them.  Regardless of your political views, it was still a neat experience to just be ON the Whitehouse lawn.  I will keep signing up every year and hope to take Matthew to the Egg roll in the future (when he's a little older to actually enjoy it).

Easter Peaster

Life has been busy (we are still working on the house).
We spent Easter Saturday at my inlaws for a yummy dinner and quality time together. I took pictures on my iPhone (yay, I finally made the switch!), but I just need to figure out how to get them off the iPhone and onto the blog!

After church on Sunday, we went to my sister's house and had an egg hunt there with more yummy food. I couldn't find Matthew's bowtie for Sunday so he ended up wearing the little tie and jacket I bought him at Target. I think he looks so stinkin cute in his outfit! (Of course, I found the bowtie the next day!!)

I love how Matthew is eye-ing his cousins Easter basket in the picture above!
I think Matthew managed to get three eggs in his basket this year. ha!

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

All Smiles For The Bunny

I was a little worried about how Matthew would react to visiting with the Easter bunny this year.
He was surprisingly happy and content with the bunny.
I love his smile in the picture!

Just for fun, here's a comparison to his picture last year with the Easter bunny.
He was only a month and half old!

How Are You Spending Your Sunday?

We are watching the 182nd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

What is General Conference?  Find out here.
It's viewed by people from 175 countries and territories and translated into 94 languages.

I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who loves me and allows me to go through trials in this life so that I may learn and grow and be a better person.  I am grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us.

I am thankful for the words of the Prophets.
