30 Weeks!

I hit 30 weeks last Friday so this post is about a week late.

Exhaustion has kicked in.  I thought I was tired before, now it's just pure exhaustion!

Hormones are in full force too.  Some days I'm an emotional wreck!

I have to see the Perinatologist twice a week now and the OB every two weeks.  All my doctors are an hour away so driving back and forth is tiring.

My Endicrinologist has put me on insulin for the gestational diabetes.  When I was pregnant with Matthew, this was about the same time I had to go on insulin.  You do what you gotta do!

Baby is still kicking around in there.  I love feeling every movement!

14 Years!

It's been 14 years since we said 'I do'!
Look at how young we were!  And that hubby of  mine was such a handsome lad.

I am so grateful to have him as my eternal companion.  I can't imagine life without him. He is my rock and my best friend.  He has made me a better person.

We may not look like we did 14 years ago (oh to be skinnier) but our love is just as strong as it's ever been.

I'm so thankful to have him by my side on this journey of life.

Here's to many more years together!!

Cherries Galore!

We went Cherry picking on Saturday.  It was SO much fun!  The weather was cloudy and it was not hot at all!  My friends came out with their families and we all went to the Orchard where the cherries were bursting from the trees!

It was delicious!  Matthew ate quite a few as he was picking them too.  We ended up with 25 lbs of cherries, 10 of which are tart cherries (for pies).

Afterwards, we all came back to my house and ate dinner and hung out.  My friends brought food so I wouldn't have to stress about cooking, etc.  It was so yummy and I have lots of leftovers for the week!

It was a fun filled day.

And it was also Steve's birthday on Saturday!!  We went to breakfast in the morning and he was a good sport about us taking over his special day with cherry picking.  Matthew and I love him to the moon and back!!  :)

Daddy-O!

I am lucky to call his guy my husband, my partner and my eternal companion!
But I am luckier that my children get to call him daddy!

He is patient, kind, loving and gives so much of himself.  He is way more fun than I am (maybe that's why Matthew ALWAYS asks for him!)

I can't wait to see how raising a daughter will soften his heart and make him mushy.

He is the best daddy!

I was sick most of the weekend so I couldn't do everything I wanted to for Father's day, but I did manage to get him a present.....a new wheel barrow!  That's what he wanted and needed since his old one just broke.  Matthew picked out the color and was the first to take a ride in it.

Although we didn't do anything big to celebrate, I hope he knows that Matthew, baby Kate and I love him 'whole wide world' (as Matthew says).

We count each and every day a blessing to have him in our lives.

We love you daddy!

28 Weeks

Last Friday marked 28 weeks! Picture was taken on Sunday.

It's been a very emotional few weeks.  The modified bedrest/limitations on what I can do is really hard.  I'm use to being on the go and doing what I want to do so not being able to do the things I'm use to or want to, is very difficult.

I usally know what my limitations are but sometimes I think I can do more and then I end up in a lot of pain and uncomfortableness.

I feel bad that I can't do more around the house, but especially that I can't do more with Matthew.  There's so much I want to do with him, especially with summer almost here!

I feel bad that my husband has to take on so much more.  And he does it without complaining!  I just want him to have a day off where he can relax and not have to worry about doing things around the house or entertaining Matthew all day.

I've been feeling like bad mother and wife.  But I know that this is only temporary.  My primary  job right now is to make sure baby keeps growing inside!  I have to remind myself that SHE is joy that will come out of all this.

Okay, pity party over.  This too shall pass.
28 weeks down, 10 more weeks to go (ideally)!

Preschool Pics 2014

Could he get any cuter?  Seriously.
I know, I'm biased.

My baby is getting big.  I just want to stop time and keep him my "baby" forever!

2013 vs. 2014
Here's a comparison of last year's pic to this year. He's lost some of that baby chubbiness.

Italian Side

Recent conversation with Matthew:

Me:  Matthew, are you Vietnamese?
Matthew:  No! I nothing.
Me:  Are you Italian?
Matthew:  No!
Me:  Are you Asian?
Matthew: yes, I secret Agent!!

Here's my little secret (1/2 Asian) Agent with his Italian grandma making gnocchi's (pasta).

Steve's mom came over on Saturday and spent the day with us since I was on bed rest the whole weekend.  Matthew loved playing with grandma and making 'macaroni'.   We had it for dinner on Sunday night with Steve's homemade sauce.  It was yummy!

Steve's mom has been such a BIG help.  She has come over almost every other week to clean the house and just do whatever we need.  I don't know what we would do without her.  She is an amazing woman that has so much love and compassion!  As long as we have chocolate stocked in the house, she will keep coming.  I am lucky to have such an awesome mother in law and Matthew is truly  lucky to have her as a grandma!
