16 Months - What Matthew's Up To
Matthew enjoys doing finger play songs like Itsy, Bitsy Spider (pictured above) and Popcorn poppng on the appricot tree!
Weighs 23 lbs
Favorite foods: bananas, watermelon, pasta, hotdogs, gold fish and chocolate.
Wear size 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers (size 5 at night).
Points to things he wants and goes to the pantry and gets the bag of cheerios.
Starting to master the tantrum phase a little when he doesn't get what he wants.
Gets into everything, especially things that he KNOWS he's not suppose to.
Pushes the limit to see what he can get away with.
Likes to play with cars and balls. And enjoys the game of 'let's see how many times mommy and daddy will have to get up and come move me away from the outlets and/or the entertainment center.'
Like's Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Doc McStuffins (in 5 min intervals only).
Matthew is starting to realize that church is way too long for him to sit through, especially when there's so many more interesting things to do like squeeze between the pews, all along the way stopping at each row to see what other people are doing.
Makes us laugh with his funny every day!

Breakfast in Bed
Matthew and I made breakfast in bed for Steve for Father's Day. And by 'made' I mean we assembled it all on the plate. It's hard to really cook anything from scratch with a 16 month old who wants to be held all the time. So, Matthew helped by putting the waffles in the toaster and pushing the button!
Steve was very surprised and appreciative. He was feeling a little under the weather, but he definitely enjoyed his breakfast (usually because we don't always have time to for breakfast on Sundays because we have church so early!)
As a side note, chocolate donuts in bed are very messy with a toddler!
But worth it!
(Yes, that is a box fan next to our bed. Steve HAS to sleep with the fan on every night, regardless of the temperature. And we even have a ceiling fan, but that's not good enough for him. The fan has to be directly on hm. It's an ongoing battle we have every night. Sorry, I digressed...)
My handsome boys before church!
Gosh - they really are a cute duo!
After church we took naps (isn't that what Sunday are for??!!).
I let Steve sleep a little bit longer since it was his special day and all. Then we had his parents over for dinner and I made stuffed shells. It was my first time making it and it was so easy and yummy! And for dessert, it was Steve's favorite, Carvel icecream cake.
Did I tell you I have the BEST inlaws?! Well, I do!
I'm grateful for a father in law (and mother in law of course) who have instilled such great values and love in their son. It is through their example that he has honored his role as a great father and husband.
Matthew loves his daddy SO much! You can tell it in his excitement when he see's daddy.
I am so blessed to have such an awesome husband and son. My heart just burst with joy when I am around them. I adore them to pieces.

How to Eat An Icecream Cone...
Matthew demonstrates how to eat a (mini) icecream cone.
(That middle picture is my favorite. )
Nothing like kicking off summer with icecream!
Our neighborhood had an end of school year ice cream social.
Matthew loved his little mini cone.

How Matthew See's Himself on the iPhone
Matthew loves the function on the iPhone that turns the camera around so he can see himself on the screen.
He's such a little ham!
He was playing with my blackberry the other day and almost changed the settings to Portuguese! Luckily, I grabbed it from him just in time to see the question, 'Are you sure you want to change all your settings to Portuguese?' !!
I love my little guy.
He makes me smile.
E-ve-ry Day!

Birthday Parties Weekend
This is my FOURTH attempt to post. Blogger is not behaving today!
Anyways, we spent Saturday going to two birthday parties. My nephew turned 7 and had a party at the movie theater. The kids got to see the Lorax, which was a cute movie.
Matthew was pretty good through most of it. He fell asleep the last half hour. Probably because he was up at 5:30 AM that morning!
Afterwards, we went to my cousin's birthday party, where Matthew slept for another hour and half!
When he woke up, he had lots of fun playing with his cousins and getting his feet wet in the fountain.
Love having family close by so Matthew can play with his cousins and attend all the birthday parties!
