26 Weeks

Pregnancy is coming along well.
Feeling baby girl move a lot more and each kick makes me smile. Steve was able to feel her move too!

Baby girl is a little over 2 lbs. She is the size of a head of lettuce.

Weight gain has been about 7 lbs (according to my scale).  I've been a little more lenient with my gestational diabetes this time around.  But it's time to get back to business because as I get further along, the numbers are reflecting my slacking!

Sleep is still being interupted by the frequent trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

We are slowly getting the nursery ready.  The theme is pink and grey.  Paint has been purchased and a few decor items.  It's a bit overwhelming and I have to remember that it doesn't have to be perfect BEFORE baby comes! Or perfect at all!

Matthew is getting excited for his baby sister.  He's already said that he will teach her how to walk, mommy will feed her and daddy will change her poopy diapers!  I can't wait until he gets to meet  his baby sister.

Hoo-Ha!

This 'Matthew's Moments' brought to you by this cutie pie!
We were driving in the car last weekend and I felt baby kick so I said to Steve, 'I just felt baby kick, right above my Hoo-ha'.

Matthew then asks, 'mommy, what's a hoo-ha?'

Steve and I were dying of laughter!

I answered his question with, 'it's a mommy part'.  Of course, he asked, 'what's a mommy part?'

We quickly changed the subject.

We really have to watch what we say around him.  Just when you think they're not listening, they are!  It was definitely a moment worth recording.  Ha!

Mothers Day 2014

My mother's day weekend started with these lovely surprises from my little guy.  He made made me a card that said he loves me because I take him on bike rides. And a cute little plant from preschool.
It's these little moments that make motherhood so special.

We celebrated on saturday with breakfast at iHop and then ran some errands.  Came home and took naps.  Then dinner at my favorite Hibachi restaurant.  And lots of kisses all day from Matthew.  I was SO happy and just grateful to be able to spend time with my wonderful husband and cute toddler!
My boys making me chocolate covered strawberries.  Oh so yummy! Did you know Ghirardelli makes THE best chocolate chips??  And the best brownie mix too!!
Our Sunday snapshot before church.  It was almost impossible to get a picture with this boy!

After church we went down to visit my mom. My sister came with all her kiddos too.  It was loud, but that's just how kids are.  I am thankful for my mom.  She may  not always show it or know how to express it, but I know she loves us.  I love her and am thankful to have her close by.

I am truly blessed to be called mommy by a special little boy and his soon to be baby sister.  Matthew will always be my baby.....the one that made me a mommy.  I love him to the moon and back.  Motherhood is not easy, but it is SO rewarding.  Every year I reflect back on what it took to get to this point in my life.  The journey wasn't easy, but it IS worth it.  How grateful I am every day that my loving Heavenly Father has trusted me to raise His children in this world.  What a responsibility!  But also, what a blessing!

23 weeks today!
Baby is the size of a grapefruit.

I am finally getting over the cough/cold I had for weeks!
We had the fetal echo earlier this week.  Baby's heart is beating nice and strong. Cervix is good too!

Still on modified bedrest.  It's hard at times, but I can't imagine being on strict bedrest. And I have the best husband who does SO much for our family.  Love him!

I miss shopping and being able to go, go, go whenever I want.

I love feeling the little flutters as she moves around.

I am grateful for friends who have brought dinners over.  So helpful!  My mother in law came over yesterday and cleaned our house.  She is the best!  I've learned to accept help when it is offered.  Not only am I blessed by the service of others, I know that they are also being blessed too.  It really makes me want to do more for others (when I am able to)!

Each passing day is truly a blessing!
