Daddy Time

Matthew loves his daddy.
His face lights up when daddy comes home from work.
They play together,
they eat together,
they sleep together,
they do NOT poop together (thank goodness!).

Some people are actually saying Matthew is starting to look like his daddy.

I love my boys.

No More Eating Naked

One of my blog readers left a comment about stripping down babies to eat could condition them to do that when they become toddlers.  Steve got a real laugh out of that and wanted his kid to be 'that' kid.

Needless to say, we don't feed Matthew naked anymore.

So far, he has tried rice cereal, carrots, peas, greenbeans and squash. He seems to enjoy them all, especially squash.

Mommy and Daddy are not enjoying the explosive diapers though!

You know it's time to cut baby's toe nails when his toe starts to rip through the sleeper.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a good low key weekend.  Having an extra day off is always nice!

Steve started his Human Anatomy class on Saturday so he will be busy every Saturday for the next 16 weeks!  I'm sad he won't be able to join us for all the Fall festivities this year. He's sooo bummed about it too because it's his favorite time of year when I drag him out every weekend (enter sarcasm).

After his class we dropped Matthew off at my mom's and went to the temple.  It's been so long since we've been able to go back (due to pregnancy and then baby).  It was SO nice.  It was just what I needed to feed my spiritual soul.

(picture taken in April 2009)
(As a side note, some of the tops of the spirals on the temple were damaged in the earthquake we had recently. Nothing too major and they are in the process of getting if fixed).

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to attend my friend's baby blessing.  Baby Hudson is absolutely adorable!  What a special day it was for their family.

Monday was just a day of cleaning and hanging around the house with Matthew and Abbey.  My neighbor had twins last week so I made her family dinner on her first day home.  Babies (boy and girl) are still in the NICU.  Hope they can get strong enough to come home soon.

It was a very nice weekend, but now it's back to work. :(

Getting "the" Shot

It's Friday, Friday....gotta get down on Friday!

Do you know how hard it is to photograph babies?!  Especially when they are so squirmy and can't sit up yet, so they just want to roll all over the place and your husband is tired and hungry so he has very little patience with said baby and photographer, and he doesn't understand why it's taking so long to get 'the' shot!  (Just sayin).

But in the end, it's all worth it when 'the' shot is so stinking adorable!

Hope everyone has a nice long weekend!
(I may or may not be pulling out the fall decorations).

September Already?!!

FALL YA'LL

(Steve and Abbey at the pumpkin patch - 2006)

September always marks the start of Fall for me.  This is my favorite time of the year, when we trade in the hot summer days for cool crisp air.

Leaves start to change color.
Opening the windows and feeling the breeze through out the house.
Fall festivals and pumpkin patches.
Apple picking!
Caramel apple cider (from Star.bucks) with extra caramel. Yum!
Soups in the crockpot.
Digging out the light sweaters and jeans.
Decorating the house with pumpkins.

I love it all! It really is when I'm the happiest.  And this year, I get to enjoy it with my little pumpkin.
Bring it all on.

(P.S. Thanks for the advice on baby food.  Steve LOVED Debbie's comment. Thank you Debbie for delurking.)
