Kathryn Anh - 3 Months

My baby girl turned 3 months on 11-9-14.
I'm guessing she weighs about 13-14 lbs (she weighed 12 lbs 7 oz at her two month check up last month).  Although when I'm carrying her in and out of the car, it feels like she weighs a ton!

I am still exclusively pumping and she takes a bottle of it every 3 hours during the day. She naps a lot and sleeps about 4-6 hours at night! We are slowly getting closer to longer stretches at night.  Thank goodness!  Momma is tired.ALL.THE.TIME!

Kate is such a happy baby!  She is entering into the fun stage where she is starting to be more aware of her surroundings.  She definitely knows her big brother loves her because he is always hugging and kissing her every chance he gets.

Look at those chubby thigh rolls!

We love our little chubster!

Captain America and a Cupcake - Halloween 2014

Matthew as Captain America!
He had all the moves to go along with it too.  My little guy was so happy to be in his costume.

This little one was NOT so happy to be in her costume.
Kate as my little cupcake!  I saw this cute idea on pinterest and recruited Steve to make it for me.  I bought all the supplies and he cut and assembled it.  The hat was purchase separately.

The custome actually is designed to go around the baby bjorn.  I wrapped it around her to try and get a pic, but she was not having it!

Here we are trunk or treating at church.  She was just not into dressing up for Halloween this year.  Ha!  My little Captain America had so much fun.  He was more interested in passing out candy instead of collecting candy!

I was going to dress up as a baker (with my little cupcake attached), but I didn't have time to find a baker's hat.  Oh well, maybe next year we can all dress up together.

Oh October, You've Been So Good to Us

October has always been one of my favorite months.  Lots of pumpkins, apples and fall foliage all around. We've had fun taking in all the beauty that is around.  As the air gets chillier and the days shorter, I will take it all in as much as I can.

I'm thankful for a husband who just goes along with all the festivities. He'd rather spend time at home, but he happily agrees to do whatever I have planned because he knows it makes me happy and most importantly, we are spending time together as a family!

When mama's happy, everybody is happy!

How about dem apples?!

We did our annual apple picking at Marker Miller Orchards.

Baby Kate stayed in the baby Bjorn the whole time. Matthew had a fun with his cousins.  And grandma even joined us this year (her first time)!

What to do with all those apples?? Well, we made caramel apples. Yum!  Matthew eats his caramel apple by licking the chocolate and caramel off.  Not even a bite into the apple.  What can I say, the kid inherited mama's sweet tooth!

Two Months Too Long!!

Has it really been two months since my last post??!! There have been many times in the last two months where I kept telling myself that I needed to update the blog.  Not because I have tons of readers who are anxiously waiting to hear from me (said with sarcasm)!  But because I need to capture memories for baby Kate's baby book (and our family book).  And thank you to those who have reached out to ask for an update.  It warms my heart to know I still have some followers out there! Ha!

Here's the low down:

* I am officially back at work (started back on 10/20/14). The last 10 weeks have been spent just snuggling with my baby girl!  And enjoying a lot of daytime T.V.  :)

* Kate is now 2 1/2 months!  She is such a good baby.  Sleeping about 4-5 hours at night (hallelujah!).  Those every two hour feedings thru out the night was brutal!

* Big brother Matthew is doing great!  He loves her so much and is protective of her.  Happy to report he is fully potty trained (since August), with the occasional accident, but he is very proud of himself and so are we!

* We have been enjoying this beautiful Fall weather (my favorite time of year).  Pictures to come of pumkin patch festivities.

* Life has been busy with two little ones.  Sometimes when life gets hard, I have to remind myself that I prayed for this and the Lord certainly has blessed me!

* I will try and get back into updating the blog more regularly.  I have lots of posts to catch up on (basically from Kate's birth story on).

Happy Friday!!

Big Brother

Matthew sure does love his little sister.  He is very gentle with her and loves to hold her and give her kisses.  He can't wait until she gets bigger so he can teach her how to walk and ride a bike.

Bringing home baby hasn't been easy on big brother.  He knows that she requires a lot of our attention so he wants more attention too!  And when he doesn't get it, he has resorted to acting out a lot more!  I am so grateful that my husband has the patience of a saint to deal with it.  I try and be patient, but the kid is relentless sometimes.  So I do a lot of praying!

We do our best to spend one on one time with Matthew and to show him that he is just as special as baby Kate.  He is such a good big brother and loves to help out with her as  much as he can.  One day Kate was crying really loud and Matthew covered his ears and said, 'mommy, she's hurting my ears'.  :)

We are still adjusting to being a family of four.  Each passing day is a better day. :)

A Very Hard First Week!

Baby Kate turned one week old yesterday.

It's been a very hard first week...not for baby, but for mommy!  I forgot how exhausting it is the first few weeks with a new baby and throw in a toddler too!

Recovering from a C-section, breastfeeding, hormones!  Oh my! You don't realize how much your body needs sleep and you just go thru the motions just to survive.  I have cried many a times the last week, sometimes just for now reason.

I am SO grateful for a husband who is so understanding and who has done so much to make sure that I am taken care of.  He has been my rock and I don't know what I would do with out him.  He has one more week off of work and I'm dreading when he has to go back to work.  I'm grateful to have him as a partner on this parenting journey.  The man is amazing and I love him to pieces.

Kate is doing great.  She is eating, pooping and sleeping.  Repeat, repeat, repeat.  I can sit and stare at her all day.  She's dreamy and is just precious.

With each passing day, I know things will get better.  I don't want the time to go by too fast, but just fast enough so that I can physically and emotionally get better to care for my baby and little boy.

All this tiredness and sleeplessness will pass.
