One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!

A few weeks ago we had a Friday off so we decided to go to the Baltimore aquarium.  It was crowded, but I was impressed with the flow of it.  They do not allow strollers so you have to check in your stroller and they give you a carrier for your baby/toddler.  At first Matthew wasn't sure about it, but he got comfortable and settled into it.  Abbey had fun seeing all the different kinds of fish in all shapes and sizes!

It was really fun and fascinating!

We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and headed home.
It was a great family day together.  I would definitely return with Matthew when he's a little older.

iPhone Cover

I received a coupon from Shutterfly so I decided to try their new iPhone cases. The hardest part was picking out the picture! I think this is by far my favorite picture of Matthew. I posted it last year on my blog so if you would like to see more of my cutie, click here.

18 Months - What Matthew's Up To

(Matthew still rolling his eyes!)

Matthew is giving us a glimpse into what's to come in the terrible two's!
He is screaming A LOT!

And is hitting.  Oh boy.

He likes to take our hand and lead us to the refridgerator or the pantry.

He gets a bottle in the morning if he gets up before 7:00 am.  If it's after 7 am, then I just skip the bottle and feed him breakfast right away.  And the only other time he gets the bottle is when he goes down.  We've been very lucky with weaning off the bottle, so far.

He loves to drink juice boxes.

He's been eating pretty well.  We discovered he may have a peanut allergy.  The babysitter gave him peanut butter cherrios and he swelled up a bit around his mouth and his eyes.  So, looks like he won't be having any peanuts (or any kind of nuts) anytime soon.

He says 'Abbey' now!  It's so cute to hear him call her name.

Matthew has never really been attached to a toy or a blankie, but lately, when he gets up in the morning  or from a nap, he has to take his blankie out of the crib with him.

He loves his little sock monkey that plays music.

Matthew is now officially in nursery at church!  I am in there with him too and I love watching him interact with other kids, although sometimes he has a hard time sharing, but we're working on that.

He is just so full of love!  He is going in on Friday for his 18 month check up so I'll have to update this post with his stats.

I'm grateful he is a healthy and happy little toddler.
Hard to believe he will be 2 years old in six months.  Crazy how fast time flies by.

Just Peachy

I went peach picking with my sister and kids last weekend.  We went to a Peach festival at a fruit farm that was very close to my house.  It was our first time there and the kids had fun (despite how hot it was)!

Matthew looks mad, but he was just rolling his eyes at me!

Funnel cake with peaches.  Yum!

Kids with faces painted.

Homemade peach cobbler. Blah.

Steve doesn't like peaches at all, but he helped me make peach cobbler.  (I'm such a lucky girl).  We tried a recipe that he found on line.  It looked good, but was way too sweet for me (which is suprising because I have such a sweet tooth).  We'll have to look for new cobbler recipes.  I've been eating the peaches in my yogurt in the mornings and also giving Matthew some.  He's pretty good at eating fruits.

I'm ready for apple picking in the fall!  Bring it on!

Big Boy Carseat

(This post is a few weeks old.  I had it in my 'drafts' and never published it).
Look who's in a big boy carseat!
Another sign my baby is growing up?!!
I scored it on clearance at babies R us and the best part was I paid for it with gift cards I received from my baby showers.
Matthew is still sitting rear facing in the middle for now, but I hear it's harder to do as your toddler gets taller.
At what age is it appropriate to turn them around to front facing and put them on the side (behind the driver or passenger seat versus in the middle??!!

The Best 9 Yr Old

Happy Birthday to my niece Abbey!
She holds a special place in our hearts because she was our first 'baby'. She filled a void in our lives as we waited for Matthew to join our family.  We consider her a BIG part of our family.  Matthew loves her just as much.  He gets very excited when Abbey comes over.

I remember when she was just this little!
(April 2004 - 8 months)

We are very blessed to have Abbey in our lives.  I love the bond that we share.
We love 'our' Abbey!
